Is there are tool that can convert a vfat partition to ntfs?

IIRC, you can convert a windows fs from fat32 to ntfs without
reinstalling or data loss. I have done that successfully a few years
ago. But, still one should create backups to be on the safe side.

But staying inside Linux, I wanted to copy the 4.4GB image as a file to a DVD
through k3b. That also failed with an error message that Files more than 4GB
could not be copied.

I wanted to give the image file itself to my friends for them to burn their own DVD's.

How is that within linux itself this problem is there?

My linux file system is the default ext3.

Can anybody give me a work around to this problem?
