Even with thunderbird (or any other IMAP client), the mail can be kept on the server by (simple) configuration choices. > ensuring that the emails don't land up in the wrong hands if the > laptops are lost etc. This is much more serious. However, considering that they used Windows in a way which allowed the computers to acquire viruses, I would say that it requires educating the users some more as well! For example, configuring the browser to clear cookie cache and form data; to keep all passwords locked with a master password or in a password safe; to logout or lock screen while suspending the machine etc. Being in charge of security for big-wigs nowadays is no picnic. The natural responses of most senior people belong to a time when the world was a safer place. Are they willing (esp. in India) to follow someone else's (usually a junior person's) directions (usually more inconvenient than the "obvious" way) on how things must be done?
