Ideally such posts should be combined and summarised on the wiki or some other easily indexable web page. I think that asking people to wade through a long thread in order to obtain a solution to their problem is only a _last_ _resort_ solution when no one has taken the trouble to summarise the solution or write a tutorial. > ponder them in giving contribution and will really discourage noise. "One man's noise is another man's music!" There are ways creating "scoring" systems for your own mail. (At least mutt has this feature). This is all the moderation that is required for a mailing list. Perhaps you want to figure out a way of distributing scoring systems --- something similar to distributed spam filtering.
