it is not. Virtuous people go to heaven - egoists get work done on earth.

with enough ego, the maintainer will make sure that no one has grounds to 
criticise the site - he will take it as a personal insult if the site goes 
down, and will not rest till it is up. Without ego he will blame the tools he 
uses or some one else and do nothing.

not so - I have never seen a person without ego accomplishing anything
