that is a wrong interpretation - I think Vamsee's idea is that he will only
spare time if there is a team willing to help out - and anyway he has now
opted out and will direct his domains to whichever site is decided on.
That is correct - my idea was to get the thing going - and hopefully a
few more people who are interested in my way of doing it will help out
eventually. Maybe they could have, if we didn't have this limbo about
which one is considered 'official'. Last month I had some free time, but
this month I'm swamped, unfortunately.
And that's the whole reason why I support KG's way of doing it - though
I it's similar to my way of doing things too (except mine is static)
perhaps he felt Django will fit the bill better, I'm cool with that. And
I offered to pitch in to his setup. And I will be helping him out with
the design soon.
As far as the code being a mess is concerned, I'm sure some of us could
lend a hand with that too. I don't see it as a big issue in the long
run. The most important thing is, we need to have a structure where
people can pitch in whenever they can, and feel like it, even if they
are tiny changes. Instead of mailing somebody, and hoping that the
changes will happen, eventually.
The idea is to bring it to a level where "hey, such and such thing has
gone wrong, I fixed it, please push it". And KG or whoever has access to
the server just needs to run a command to deploy the changes. That's all
that needs to be done, ideally. Even he might not have the time to dig
into code, but he sure can deploy it in seconds.
Vamsee.
