Dear Luggies, I have been going through the support of SSL in open source browsers. CCA (Controller of CA) is a Govt. of India body entrusted with providing PKI in India.
A lot of indian banks and other clients are forced to use popular root CA like Verisign, which costs a lost to provide trust. The digital certificates provided by CCA and its corresponding CA remains untrusted in all browsers since the root CA of CCA does not come pre installed with the open source browsers. Has CCA taken any initiative to get them pre install on the browsers. A common netizen may not be aware of the technicalities behind root CA or SSL. Is it possible for us to make them come pre install with the popular open source browsers like FF etc. Please comment on this and point me if I am wrong some where. -- V.Vishnu, _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, email [email protected] with "unsubscribe <password> <address>" in the subject or body of the message. http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
