If its so the assumption that evert Tom / Dick and Harry has a Google account is actually wrong . I always felt that this argument to be nitpick as you said to avoid picassa/ gmail . But recently when i was trying to join a yahoo groups to be part of a alumni chapter i realised that i dont have a yahoo id . Thats where the systems like mailman come into picture .
