I forgot to mention that you can see for yourself how great it is:

My raw ISO image is roughly 650 MB but thro' different version of
SpamCheetah I have never
had a p7 image more than 110 MB.

See for yourself. Test it and find out.

gz produces more than double the size of 7z. So you can say that gz
achieves 300% compression
and 7z more than double that.

Of course I await the day when tar(BSD and GNU) embraces this great technology.

We shall take  a dekko at some mp3 related stuff tomorrow.
