what I wanted to mean was: 'copy the selected items into the temporary space for pasting'. I do not know where terms like 'photocopy', 'files' and 'directories' came from. The actual english that I was trying to translate comes from JOSM and is aimed at the lay user. Here it is: 'copy selected objects to paste buffer'. So how would you translate that?
