I still cannot wrap my mind around the fact as to why greenhouse gases let the heat from the Sun 'in' first but wont let it go out :-) The consequences are, while the temp (the avg temp actually) rises on a global scale, the local changes are unpredictable. That's why its being referred to as climate change now rather than global warming. The implication of avg temp rising is that the ocean and atmospheric currents go haywire on a global scale and for all we know Chennai could end up with an arctic tundra climate. regds, mano _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, email [email protected] with "unsubscribe <password> <address>" in the subject or body of the message. http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
