I don't think it would've been in the interests of Sun to kill or
actively harm MySQL. Sun actively participated and invested in a lot of
open source projects . But, Oracle has nothing comparable to that
record, nor was it shy to kill off its previous acquisitions like Siebel
and JD Edwards. So I think Monty's fears are well-founded.
