You can run Virtual Box without any problems.
Qemu should also work. Qemu uses KVM services if you are looking for
Hardware assisted Virtualisation which is not possible with your CPU specs.

Make sure that you allocate appropriate amount of RAM to the VM.
256MB should be enough to run Ubuntu.
