Hello, folks, I have some trouble with Firefox that pops up intermittently. Basically what happens is that font rendering goes all wacky all of a sudden and I'm not sure where to go to fix it. Unfortunately, Google results seem to be vague and dealing with other issues and changing the DPI and hinting settings changes nothing. As a matter of fact, changing font settings in Gnome seems to have no effect on Firefox at all! However, Firefox becomes okay when I restart it.
Meanwhile, Epiphany renders everything fine. Here's a screenshot to show you what I'm talking about: <http://i.imgur.com/8tBl7.png>. It's possible it is more obvious on LCD monitors. Anyway, I prefer the fonts on the right to the ones on the left. This is what text looks like in Firefox after restarting it alone: <http://i.imgur.com/0EqTC.png>. I want it to look like that always The websites are: <http://live.gnome.org/Accessibility> and <http://wiki.tiker.net/PyCuda/ShowCase> but it occurs on others. Additional information: 1. Firefox 3.0.18 on Ubuntu 9.04 2. Nvidia 8400M GS with proprietary drivers Any idea? -- Roshan George <[email protected]> _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
