It is a PS2 keyboard and my motherboard does have PS2 settings enabled. The problem occurs randomly but its irritating enough to restart it once, in order to get the keyboard working.
Also, I dont think its a problem with my keyboard not getting detected as such. Since, on the LILO prompt I am able to choose the desired OS to boot into and press the <ENTER> key. It is just that, by the time I reach the Ubuntu login prompt, my keyboard input is not accepted anymore. As for more info, my machine runs on an AMD Athlon x64 dual core processor with M2N-MX SE mobo, and my keyboard is a very old compaq model - SK-2800C (if that helps). Considering that, Do any of you experience similar problems with Ubuntu, or is it just my keyboard wearing out ?
