I have seen many cases i have seen hardware that works only on windows. Also sometimes after a update some things may stop working. This happens rarely in windows, but they do happen even on windows. So it always helps to have dual boot with windows just to clear out this type of issues. I find in my case most hardware related issues are figured out by just booting into windows when we have problem in linux and vice-versa. Although you may not use windows it still helps to have one to rule out possiblites. I dont think keyboard issue will solved by booting into windows, b'cos keyboard is a basic functionality and PS/2 keyboard have been around for a long time. So most likely it is cause of ware out. Just trying connecting to another machine and rule out the possibilities.
