Personally I would go for a DELL. You can call customer care and ask them for a system without Windows OS. Worth giving a try since this would save you a couple of grand. The reason is their service quality and rugged-ness. Also works well with Linux. Remember to ask for an extended warranty since *accidental* damage is also covered in the warranty.
