This must be typo. From the Ubuntu setup I am presuming it is indeed 172.16.1.197. > Primary dns 203.90.78.65 > > Our SAP server ip address is 172.16.200.27 which is located in datacentre. > and we are having MPLS from datacentre. The problem is i am not connecting > to our sap server from ubuntu Server, Is there some kind of firewall that is not allowing connections from 172.16.1.6? This could be either at the egress fw/gw/router or @ the datacenter end. try this and see what you get telnet 172.16.200.27 <sap_port> substitute <sap_port> with the port number on which your SAP application is available. > i am getting updates from > repositories also, and our local subnet (172.16.1.0/24) machines are all > connecting to my ubuntu server. > At the same time i am able to connect from > xp machine to our SAP Server which is in the same subnet. So should your ubuntu server as well. Me thinks there is some kind of egress filter out of your 172.16.1.0/24 subnet or an ingress filter @ the data center end. I would suggest consult the resident Network Admin and get his/her opinion. -- Arun Khan "As a layman, I would say we have it, but as a scientist I have to say, 'What do we have?'"
