In the first place, I agree with Arun Khan. On the other hand I look at it as an opportunity for a consortium of Open source lovers, benefitters and benfactors. What OP has as asked for a company. We have this greatest oppurtunity as a consortium to break the cartel. We have all the source codes, all the design technologies, components and the expertise to pull it off including lifelong support for the product. This what I was envisioning sometime back When I mentioned an integrated approach in one of my post where I was more or less dismissed as a madman by some members. Reductionism is ok to solve the problem. We Indians have the expertise -- mechanical, electrical, electronics, hardware, integration and most importantly the grit -- to deliver these. What we lack is a vision. or rather translating a vision into a mission. Almost all of us are capable of that. And we must recognise that ans pitch in. It is ok dollar is hovering around ~70. It is ok to have greed. But we have to satisfy the need. I can commit this much now: if a inFLOSS consortium be formed for solution first and then a product later, We can have a bright future. Otherwise, we will be remain answering stupid questions about activating some stupid data card or some stupid linux installation or stupid jquery and json programming battles with noobie. What are IITs and NITs doing? Sleeping or worried about their tenure? Or just producing unemployable youths (Ask any industry person)? Where is the research on integration and indiansation? After all they are living off Indian taxpayers money which we pay on every toothpaste and soap we use (remember "MRP (All taxes included?)). Above afterall is IMHO, Thanks and Regards Rajagopal _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc ILUGC Mailing List Guidelines: http://ilugc.in/mailinglist-guidelines
