I have a old qmail server running on Debian 4 box.

>From today morning, it is not receiving emails from any of the external
>domains.
But can send and receive from domains on the same server.
Can send emails to any other outer domains too.

The logs says as

@40000000527080500462f684 qmail-smtpd 16004: mail from: [email protected]
@400000005270805037ec4e9c qmail-smtpd 16004: message temporarly not
accepted because: mail server temporarily rejected message (#4.3.0)
@40000000527080510d6a806c tcpserver: end 16004 status 0

Same error message for all external emails.

http://www.fehcom.de/qmail/spamcontrol/README_spamcontrol.html

says that

<quote>
In case the virus scanner can not be called properly or has an
internal problem, the following SMTP message is given: "454 mail
server temporarily rejected message (#4.3.0)"
</quote>

Dont know how the qmail connects with the any scanner.

Qmail runs as a tcpserver process.

Need some suggestions on how to proceed further on fixing this.

Thanks.
