Thanks, I understand your point. I am familiar with MATLAB but the issue I am facing is - how and what to do within MATLAB for Image Processing and DSP - actually I need information on implementation side. A completion of a couple of projects will give me a high boost.
Say I want to measure the temperature of eyes by its thermal image and similarly for other projects (starting from basics to advance). Since I am at beginner stage I am not sure how to implement these in either of the software. Is there any help related to same I can avail? As you are familiar with Matlab you can easily adapt to GNUOctave, as its syntax is very close to Matlab and GNUOctave is functionally as good as Matlab in terms of speed as well when compared to Scilab. QtOctave is GUI tool for octave and its look and feel are similar to Matlab so you wont be having trouble adapting it.
