Hi Venky,

If you can get your i845 M/B working with the built in X driver in
1024x768 mode or higher could you tell me how you did it? I am currently
using the fbdev drivers for this. I tried using vesa but for some reason
that failed although in RH 7.3 the same combination was able to run
1280x1024. Anybody got any thoughts on this as to why the newer version
of X and vesa driver is unable to do what the older version was very
much capable of? With the new version I could not even bring up
1024x768.

Also is there anyway to get DRI working on this ? The last time I tried
with the dri drivers provided on the Intel site my X started to seg
fault so I have given up temporarily since I wasted a lot of time
getting it up and working again.

bye,
