Can not access the network running samba right now but off hand recall:
1. Some thing about plain / encrypted password problem between earlier /
later version of Win98 so probably plain password may work.
2. The user log in name into win98 should be same as the login name in
linux. Why I do not know but seems to work like this only.
You have to add user /passwd in Samba not pass them on(what ever you
mean by that)
