Abhishek,
Only way out is to read. Subscribe to magazines, PCQ & LiFY are my
personal recommendations. Normally they carry articles to deal with many
issues. Makes sense to try even if you do not need particular
application immediately. Will build up your knowledge base.
Secondly do not be shy of posting your solutions on the mail list to
help others. Max is that you will make a blunder and some one else will
post comments to correct you. Learn from these.
In this instance the solution was tried by me, after being frustrated
for a long time, from a small box article in PCQ. The file XF86Config is
controlling the way X server behaves. If you read all the sections you
can try to tweak some more performance. Before doing any changes keep a
back up so that if things do not turn out the way you wanted just
overwrite with backup.
