Change the above lines to
Order deny,allow
deny from 192.168.1.79
allow from 192.168.1.0/24
When you specify "order deny,allow" deny directives
are executed before allow. Since in your case you have
written deny before specifying the order, deny
directive is getting orverriden by "allow
192.168.1.0/24" directive.
