Amit,

I did not mean the solution part outside the list, i only meant his contact
details.

As far as scanning the content before reaching the PC goes, one would like
to understand in bit more depth as to what Puneet has in mind - however,
given the other environment considerations, one would assume that he needs
to have content filtering in
        a. Web download (dansguardian)
        b. Mail download (clamd)
        c. General irrelevant traffic stoppage. (firewall - shorewall)
        d. If he would like to dig deeper, he may want to have a look at the
traffic and what kind of packets are going around. (ntop)
        e. In order to protect his network from intruding eyes, he may want to go
for a networl intrusion detection system - which will scan his network
(conditions apply) and give reports on type of attempts (snort)
        f. For unwanted mail, he would need anti-spam (spamassassin)
        g. For simple access to the net he could use caching proxy along with
appropriate access control mechanisms (squid + squidguard)
        h. For his own users, he may want to set up pop3, web, imap, wap frontend
(cyrus, uw-imap) etc.
        i. He may want to setup an inbound filter for filtering unwanted messages
(procmail and/or spamassassin)

My point is and was, there are umpteen solutions in the linux space, and one
would need to understnad the exact requirement, propose a suitable solution
and see how the integrated solution is supported and worked upon.

Trust the above clarifies your thoughts/queries.

regards,
alok sinha
