I have never had any ASUS specific issues with Linux. I have preferred ASUS for years, and still insist on it whenver I buy a new box. No issues till now. Since the Mobos I buy are always for AMD, the chipset is generally VIA. Newer VIA hard disk controllers have sometimes faced problems, but that is still similar to many new hardware. - Sandip -- Sandip Bhattacharya sandip (at) puroga.com Puroga Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
