One of the users pointed out that the newer DeskJet from HP on USB port was printing very slowly as compared to the output when the same printer was run under Win. Investigation till date reveal: 1. The printer is running almost at half the speed for similar mode (draft / LQ) 2. The printing under RH9 / Fedora 1 is uni-directional as compared to bi-directional under Win 3. Some discussion at www.linuxprinting.org about hpijs < ver 1.4 have this problem. But even after loading 1.5 this did not go away. 4. Some discussion at the same site about switching the BIOS PnP to off did not work either. 5. Some discussion on RH based system having this problem now under investigation by doing a test install of some other distro.
Will report the results, in the meanwhile any one else found this problem and any suggested solutions? For record Lasers on /dev/lp0 run equally fast under both OS. -- Sudev Barar Learning Linux _______________________________________________ ilugd mailinglist -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/
