time taken by gentoo installation does not depend on CPU alone rather your connection speed also plays a huge role as you need to download lots of sources. if you are thinking about installing gentoo with a dial-up connection then please be ready to counter lots of frustration. on the other hand if you have a fast connection then i can assure you that you will absolutely love the Gentoo eXPerience ;) just a heads up.
P.S.
