Hmmm now give me a minute to think will ya ;) No seriously, not considering "Java the language" (which really doesn't beat "Python the language" (NOTHING beats "Python the language"!)), Java has JSP, Tomcat, Struts, Eclipse and Netbeans, HUGE standard libraries, SWT and Swing, a hundred dozen different languages targetted at the Java VM, (alleged) cross-platform compatibility and what not.. > For web development, why not use PHP. I have had very good experience > with it I haven't.. I have had good experiences with python based CMS's but I don't need a CMS.. PHP is also widely supported by web space providers so that might be a plus if I wasn't planning on running my own server.. So these two points nullified as much as I see it PHP offers me no advantage at all over Python.. - AJ _______________________________________________ ilugd mailinglist -- [email protected] http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/
