Since the A1200 has a Linux OS, it doesn't matter what Linux Distro you are 
using. You can mount it just like any other USB thumb drive when it is USB 
mode. I have also seen somewhere that the Projects like OpenObex can be used to 
communicate to it using "modem"mode. 

There are soem sites which are realsing software for it , including a shell !!! 

I myself bought this phone yesterday and having a ball of a time with it.
