Yes, it allows your software to be linked -or- bundled along with
software licensed under the so-called "GPL-incompatible" licenses;
something that isn't possible in the GPL (the LGPL was created just to
grant this extra "freedom" to the developers, so the BSD and LGPL are
equivalent in this regard)
