My Father and mother use Linux (FC6) on our home PC with no issues at all. Infact they did not even feel a change from XP. They edit pictures,do mail, internet. I did not have to hand hold them at all. On the other hand several of our managers at work complain endlessly about how it "used to work" in Windows. It a perception based problem, not to do with functionality of either OS.
The only way to change this perception is to give training, support and then do it all over again :-) .
