there are three ways to fix something broken in wikipedia: 1. fix it in wikipedia - given that you have the material and interest to do so and are willing to face the storm about editing ... 2. raise the issue in the discussion page next to the article 3. raise the issue in this mailing list - which may (hopefully) raise consciousness about wikipedia and did (thankfully) result in action It may take longer to teach a person to fish than to actually buy a fish and give it to him. If my rants have succeeded in convincing people to approach adding/editing stuff like this in wikipedia with extreme caution and respect for rules - I am happy. > > Kenneth - your opinions on this matter, imho, are > rather baseless. my opinion is that wikipedia is not the place to advertise forthcoming events. -- regards Kenneth Gonsalves Associate, NRC-FOSS [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://nrcfosshelpline.in/web/ _______________________________________________ ilugd mailinglist -- [email protected] http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Next Event: http://freed.in - September 28-29, 2007 Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/
