Dump vista. Vista's utility for resizing partitions is a pain. It generally allows very limited resizing, sometimes asking for a minimum of 80-90 gb for the C drive. Microsoft has given up fat32 partitioning and vista does not do a fat32 partition. Some of the common proprietary partitioning utilities like partition magic do not work on vista. There are others that do and perhaps work better than the vista's own utility. But they do not come free. And qtparted, as far as I have seen, does not resize vista paritions. In sum, throw out vista. Too bad you had to pay for it.
