Hi Puneet, You have two options regarding partitioning - either go for a clean install by formatting the drive and dividing the whole into two partitions - One for Ubuntu and one for Windows Vista.
Or a better option would be to resize the disk in Windows Vista as it includes its own partition-resizing utility and create enough space for Ubuntu to sit on. Regarding your query on Wireless routers, you should either go for NetGear which is a cheaper option which should be around 2k or go for a slightly higher one by D-Link.
