indicate? Isn't posting rate = number of posts in that date? The above 
numbers and the ones in the link don't match at all.

The gmane.org link was the source of the data I had posted. Was trying 
to do some more analysis of that data to see if any deductions come out 
of it, but if the data is not representative of what we're discussing 
here then no point in doing that exercise.
