...or just buy an ATI card, with open source drivers, and not give money 
to a company (NV) that has been inimical to the open source community 
for ages.  I have ATI on both the desktop and the laptop, and 
compiz/beryl/3d games work just fine with the open source ATI drivers 
built into X.org on both machines.
