Hi Sayak Its nice to see your effort in spreading the message of Free software and Ubuntu, but I request you to please discuss this out on the ubuntu-in mailing list. I'm sure you know about it from www.ubuntu-in.org
We, as the Ubuntu India members have refrained people from making separate LoCo teams, since unlike other countries where the population using Ubuntu is so large (that they really need city teams), we here don't actually need that. This has been debated earlier about another generous person, who started the Ubuntu Bangalore LoCo. In fact, there is so much that you can do to help the official Indian Team. I would suggest you to please get in touch at the Ubuntu India mailing list. You shall receive proper direction. Please don't feel that I am trying to demoralize or stop you from doing community service. Instead, I am pointing you in the correct way. Cheers!
