Hi All,

I am using HP dv6500t with Kubuntu Hardy Heron.
Nothing happens when I insert a data CD in the optical drive but any mp3 CD
(tried a legally bought mp3 CD) or data DVD (I tried Hardy Heron DVD) are
always detected. Also, I can burn DVDs.

Looking at the *capabilities,* I don't see something called cd (like I see
dvd), is any such thing expected?
No detection of data CD in Windows Vista too.
Does this mean, I need to upgrade the firmware or get a new optical drive
for me.

Searching the similar problem led me to some links which indicate firmware
upgrade but using some windows software.
If that's the only possibility, anything available for Hardy?

Thanks in anticipation.
