I tried my two of my CDs on my neighbor's Laptop (Dell, don't know about the Optical drive) and both were recognized. If I am not forgetting (not 100% sure), I used the optical drive on my laptop to burn one of those CDs and now the same is not being recognized.
Also, when I inserted a CD which came free with PC Quest magazine, that was recognized by my optical drive. Only thing common with CDs not recognized is that both are from Moser Baer. But, I think that's a non-issue. Any further pointers ? > On Sat, 5 Jul 2008 1:21 am, Vikas Upadhyay wrote: > > Hi All, > > > > I am using HP dv6500t with Kubuntu Hardy Heron. > > Nothing happens when I insert a data CD in the optical drive but any > > mp3 CD > > (tried a legally bought mp3 CD) or data DVD (I tried Hardy Heron DVD) > > are > > always detected.
