1) specialized gear comes with firmware the hardware vendors don't
share or reveal.
c'mon, we can't get the full capabilities of commodity 3d graphics
cards to work yet, or even flash or full acrobat equivalents. what i'm
talking about will definitely take a while longer, if it all. in the
meantime, my biological clock is ticking. i'd like to complete some
creative projects before i croak.

will do. in the meantime, you know our usual "you've got to be the
change you wish to c++ in the world..."?

01. okay, even at EFY, we are not 100% foss-migrated. some pockets of
applications fastidiously remain rooted in proprietary software. imho,
some of those already have workable solutions in foss, in contrast to
my problems wtih some specific vertical applications that have none.
hearteningly, over the years at EFY, major chunks of processes have
moved to foss, but would be encouraging to see that which *can move*
to foss, to move to foss.

02. you could also help the next LinuxAsia > OSIWeek become more foss-centric

you, swapnil, can be the change you wish to see in the world. instead
of seeking inspiration from having me nailed on a 100% foss-only
cross, you are in an unique position of strength to create significant
and tangible impact that will have a much-needed positive ripple
effect.
all this based on tasks and projects, that are doable.

inspire me.

regards
niyam
