How genuine is it? You cannot bundle those pantent encumbered codecs out of the box. That's not going to change unless those codecs are open sourced under a compatible license. But, short of bundling those proprietory stuff. Any newbie distro these days does a great job of making it effortlessly simple to install lots of proprietory software in your system, not just limited to codecs but also graphics drivers to applications and more. And for those who don't have internet, distros like ubuntu have apt-on-cd which makes it a breeze to get softwares on a box running ubuntu and install those softwares on any PC running the same version of ubuntu. Or else you can mirror the whole repository and carry it around on those small portable disks available in the market. -- Lily Tomlin - "The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat." _______________________________________________ ilugd mailinglist -- [email protected] http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/
