hi everybody, i have installed Red Hat linux 8.0 in my PC. and i am new to this operating system, so i dont know much about this. i have a intel 845 motherboard and a on board VGA and Sound card, with LG 44i monitor. i am facing three problems
1) Sound card does not get installed. my sound card is not detected. i had written to the group about it earlier but the inputs from some of the gurus could not solve my problem. i have orignal intel 845glly motherboard. i have not been able to find the drivers at niether the intel's site nor the alsa site. 2)resoulution of the scale exceeding 640x480 is not supported by linux while with the same hardwre in win98 i can use 800x600. 3) when i logout from graphics then screen get blank and then i have to use CTRL-ALT-DELETE to reboot the terminal. kindly help me.
