For those who dont know how to logon to IRC, read this quick howto.

Start an IRC client, like Chatzilla (comes bundled with Mozilla), or
ircii (for console) or bitchx or whatever u like.
If you get a dialog box to enter server details, enter the abovementioned
details.

If you dont get a dialog box like that, type:
/server irc.openprojects.net

this will connect to the irc server on port 6667(thats the default port).
You will now see lots of messages giving all kinds of information. It will
carry a message of the day etc. When it comes to "End of /MOTD command" it
means you have successfully logged on.

Next you set your nickname. (ircii asks for it, so does Chatzilla, dont
know abt the others). to set it manually, you type
/nick <nickname>

e.g.
/nick Gami
will set the nickname that u talk as to Gami.

Next, you join the linux-delhi room by issuing the command
/join #linux-delhi

Thats it ! now you can chat with other people in the room.

While in IRC, try to follow the IRC ettiquettes. You can find the
expected rules of conduct by doing a simple google search.

If anyone needs any help with IRC, feel free to ask on the list.

regards,
Gami
