Hey ashok, If you want to create your own linux distro you can go to LFS (linux from scratch) and read (PDF) 253 pages, out of which only 10 are something to read about and the rest of that is how to install different utils on linux and download his Live cd, get the things you want, create and install a new distro. It is pretty straight forward and fun playing with it. You will know in and out(which includes banging your head to wall :-) ) on linux doing this.
And probably very good thing to put it on the resume. But if all you are trying to do is a hack a existing linux distro that boots up and goes on to command prompt you can do that on any linux distro and there is nothing big about that. For that you might want to look at DSL (damn small linux), it is bare bone (small) linux distro you can go through there documents, there they describe how to install it on the computer instead of making it a live cd and hack at it to boot to run level 3. See do something that is fun, that takes less time and makes you learn more about (Li)unix. -Gopi Manapragada --- Ashok Reddy Annapareddy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Friends, > > Iam a final year engineeing student iam taking > to create a Linux > based operating System that juzt boot up in command > prompt is that an > executable project for me > Tell me friends i wanted help immediately > Ashok Reddy > > > > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
