As is common practice on the New Year eve, it is appropriate
for us to work out a stratagy for the future at the LUG level
and National level.
My suggestions, offhand ,to start a dicussion:
1. Collect from senior and employed members their idea of
skills valued in Industry for the guidance of the students.
Clearly give out the sofware and practices getting out-dated
and the those with a good future.
2. How employed members with access to hardware and software
can provide access to student members ,so that they can get
familiar with live environments.
3. Identify trainers and arrange training to student members
and to future trainers in important areas.
4. Our idea of what should be taught in various computer
courses in degree colleges and what should be discontinued.
Can high schools do better than teaching Basic and Dbase.
