Hi, Little updates on this.
dovecot-0.99.14-4 has some issues with mbox. dovecot-1.x alfa is realeased which has greater support for mbox. I installed Cyrus-imapd but same problem. It is file locking issue. Here is the related setting of my postfix. deliver_lock_attempts = 20 deliver_lock_delay = 1s mailbox_delivery_lock = fcntl, dotlock stale_lock_time = 500s virtual_mailbox_lock = fcntl No my /var/spool/mail is not an NFS. However users home directories are nfs shares. Here is the exact error from maillog Couldn't open INBOX: Internal error occured. Refer to server log for more information.
