My iMac DV/SE, graphite, 18 months old, has been in the shop for 3 weeks
as of tomorrow. The tech thinks she finally has a dignosis (she consulted
with Apple) but she doesn't sound too sure - a new power/analog/video
board and a new CRT. Total cost about $700 (I don't have Apple Care)

Questions:

1. Considering the tech's insecurity about the diagnosis should I go
ahead and have it repaired? (90 day warranty)

2. Should I take it to another shop or two? (It is at a highly
experienced and reputable shop in Ann Arbor)

3. Should I wait and see what Apple has new this week?

Thanks,

Kate
