Considering the fact that you can get a comparable brand new replacement
iMac DV/SE for about $100 more than what your repair would cost I think that
I would go that route (I'm certain that after MWNY on Wednesday you'll be
able to get a replacement iMac for less than $700 dollars). If the tech
isn't 100% sure what the problem is then I suspect that the quoted price
could easily go up.
