You still have time to buy the Applecare plan.  You don't have to buy it when
you buy the computer and you can buy it from any Apple authorized dealer. It
is the same price anywhere that you buy it - as far as I have seen anyway.

I bought my apple care plan just as the first year warranty was expiring - I
bought it literally days before it expired.
Only two months later, my video card went and I ended up saving $300.00
(including labour and one other part)  So it paid for itself.

I would definetely recommend getting it though.
